BA extend fuel saving plane paint trial
31.12.11
British Airways is to have one of its Boeing 777-200 planes covered with fuel saving paint after successful trials of the paint on an Airbus A318 serving its New York - London City service.
Rising fuel costs have seen airlines seek ways of cutting plane weight and improving efficiency. The coating, made by TripleO, reduces debris build up on planes in flight and improves aerodynamics, the airline said in a statement. BA hopes to save more than £100,000 during the trial period.
