Ping pong table installed in Terminal 3
26.07.10
A ping pong table has been installed at Heathrow Terminal 3 as part of a scheme across London to promote sport. For the next month passengers will be able to enjoy a game of table tennis in the departure lounge.
One hundred ping pong tables have been installed in locations across London, including the London Eye, Tate Britain and the British Library, with the aim of encouraging people to take up sport ahead of the London 2012 Olympics.
A spokesman for the airport said: ‘Ping pong may have started in the UK, but its popularity around the world makes it the ideal pastime to bring together passengers from all nationalities. Once the four-week period is up, the table will be donated to a local organisation nominated by our staff.'
