BA names 24 other airlines in cargo price fixing case
24.07.10
British Airways has named 24 other airlines it claims should share potential damages as a result of a cargo freight price fixing lawsuit, the Times reports. The airline has issued legal proceedings against its alleged co-conspirators in a bid to have them included in the case and therefore to spread the impact of any damages.
BA is being sued by around 250 companies after it pleaded guilty in the US to being part of a cartel that fixed the price of cargo. The newspaper reports that the airline has issued proceedings, called a 'Part 20', to enjoin the other alleged conspirators in the damages lawsuit. Air France, Qantas, Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines are all among the airlines to have been added as defendants to the suit.
