BA and cabin crew union talks deadlocked
17.06.10
BA and Unite held talks yesterday to try to resolve the 16-month dispute over staffing levels and salaries for the airline ’s 12,000 cabin crew. No progress was made in the discussions, which have been described as 'deadlocked'. Unite joint General Secretary Tony Woodley said that he hopes negotiations will resume later this week.
ACAS said it had presented a ‘potential way forward’ to both BA and Unite last week, with the aim of trying to break the deadlock, though ‘regrettably,’ the meeting yesterday failed to advance talks. A spokesman added: ‘At present there are no further meetings planned but ACAS will monitor developments and our services remain available.'
