Arik Air to relaunch Abuja flights
11.12.11
Nigeria's Arik Air will relaunch its operations between Abuja and Heathrow tomorrow. The airline suspended its operations on the route citing problems with obtaining enought slots at Heathrow.
The resumption of operations on the route is as a result of the negotiations between the UK and Nigeria governments on a Bilateral Air Services Agreement. Arik will receive two additional weekly slots at Heathrow in order to operate a daily Abuja – Heathrow flight compared to 5 times weekly that the airline had operated from November 2009 until the end of October, when it suspended operations on the route.
Arik will fly into Heathrow Terminal 4, operating the route using a Boeing 737-800 plane with a two-class configuration including 16 Business Class 'cradle style' seats with 8.6 inch TV monitors and 126 ergonomic Economy Class seats with a pitch of 34 inches.
