New Heathrow hotel offers six apprenticeships
10.07.11
The new Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5 hotel will offer six food and beverage apprenticeships when it opens next month. The hotel has joined forces with several educational establishments to offer four kitchen and two front-of-house applicants the opportunity of working with a renowned chef.
The hotel's signature restaurant, Mr Todiwala's Kitchen, will be run by Cyrus Todiwala, who will provide guidance and support to the chosen apprentices, alongside executive chef Paul Danabie. The apprentices will take a three year NVQ course at West London University, leading to an Academy of Culinary Arts (ACA) Diploma in Professional Cookery, while front-of-house apprenticeships will be trained by the Academy of Food & Wine Service (AFWS).
Caroline Lowe, director of human resources at the airport hotel, said: ‘We are committed to discovering and training the best talent in hospitality. We are delighted to be offering these exciting apprenticeship opportunities. Investing in our team is a key focus for us; we are currently recruiting the best possible team to work in our new upscale Hilton Hotel.'
