Qatar to add Heathrow flight
08.12.11
Qatar Airways will introduce a fifth daily return service between Heathrow and its Doha hub on March 25 next year, to provide extra seats in time for the London 2012 Olympics. The additional service on the popular route takes capacity up from 28 to 35 flights a week. It will operated using one of the airline's Boeing 777 long haul aircraft with 42 seats in Business Class and 217 seats in Economy.
Flight QR076 will leave Heathrow at 16:00, arriving in Doha at 00:50 the following day. Flight QR075 will depart Doha at 06:35 and arrive at Heathrow at 12:00 (all times local). The flights have been scheduled to offer more convenient connections over its Doha hub to and from the airline’s route network across Asia Pacific.
Chief executive Akbar Al Baker said the additional flights ‘reflect the growing importance of London to the airline’s international operations’ and would also help meet demand for the Olympics.
