Virgin plan second flight to Dubai
07.08.11
Virgin Atlantic will launch a second daily frequency to Dubai when it takes delivery of its long awaited Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Arabian Business reports that the airline has no plans to expand in the Middle East outside of Dubai, but that ‘absolutely Dubai will benefit from a second frequency.’
Julie Southern, Virgin's chief commercial officer, told the newspaper: ‘The critical thing will be getting the right size of aircraft, and the 787s will allow us to open up additional frequencies.' The airline has 20 of the much delayed Boeing 787s on order, the first of which will start being delivered in 2014.
