BA / Iberia have not fixed merger date
04.02.10
BA and Iberia are on track to sign the merger deal that will create the world's third largest airline by revenue in the first quarter of 2010, the two airlines said yesterday. However, they denied Spanish press reports that there is a fixed date for the deal to be signed.
The statements come after Spanish business newspaper Cinco Dias said Iberia had penciled in both February 12 and February 25 as planned dates to sign and announce the deal with BA. A BA spokesman said simply: ‘We aim to sign the merger agreement in the first quarter of 2010,' giving no further details on the timetable.
