New plane sees BMI increase capacity on African flights
02.06.11
BMI is to increase capacity on its Heathrow to Freetown, Almaty and Bishkek flights from later this month. Starting on June 25, the airline will use a wide-bodied Airbus A330 on its flights from Heathrow to Almaty and onwards to Bishkek, each Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
And from 26 June, flights departing from Heathrow to Freetown each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday will also be operated using the new Airbus A330, offering customers the convenience of direct flights with no refuelling stop.
The airline will offer 36 Business Class and 196 Economy seats on the routes, with the new plane replacing a leased Boeing 757 that has been operating the routes. A BMI spokesman said: ‘The move from single aisle aircraft to a longer range, wide-bodied plane offers a substantial product upgrade for our customers travelling on these routes. Not only will it provide direct services but it will also considerably enhance our Business Class offering.'
